Summer Saturday Mornings in  Downtown Cook

by Becky Trip

Downtown Cook on a summer Saturday morning is a great place to be.  The Cook Area Farmer's Market is in full swing, with many different stalls set up in the City Park on River Street.  You can shop for fresh produce, cottage goods, and hand-crafted wares from people from our community.  You can also take a horse-drawn buggy ride down River Street and around the block.  Kids and adults alike enjoy this activity.  And, this year, the Cook Public Library is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., where you can check out a book or DVD, read a magazine (why not bring in your fresh baked goodies from the Farmer's Market and your gourmet coffee from the Comet Theater Coffee Shop to enjoy while you're reading your book or magazine??), use their high-speed internet computers, connect to free WiFi, and more.  And, the Library is also offering activities for children Saturday mornings, as well as hosting speakers and other programs. It all adds up to a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

Here are some photos taken downtown on Saturday, July 1, 2017.  Enjoy!
