March 13
1990, 13 Mar, an election was held
to create the Cook Community
Hospital District. The Hospital had
been under the ownership of the City
of Cook. This was causing a burden
on the City’s bond rating being such
a great liability. Also money could
be raised through a levy on the
rural taxpayers of the area for the
needed hospital funds. As the Mayor
at the time I signed the documents
giving the hospital to the district,
free and clear.
