Could you help me out, Don, in locating a 1962 Alango annual?  We would like to display it on August 15, along with the others dating back to and including 1948. We have been fortunate to  receive  them from former alumni and also area persons.   This would finalize my work on that-----they can call us and we can pick it up, or they can drop it off on our doorstep or in the school.   We are rarely away from here now days.  Thanks, Corrinne

Alango 2009 All School Reunion to be held August 15, 2009 at the Historically registered Alango School will start with registration at 10 am.  The school is owned by Dan Maki, architect, and is being refurbished by his family. The school will be open for tours,  open to the public.  The school is located at the intersection of hwy #22 and Hwy #25, between Hwy #73 and Hwy #53.  The one day affair will provide time for interaction between past attendees and employees of the school during it’s open years (1927-1987).

The school’s old school bell will ring once again at 2 pm when the all-school photo shoot will take place on the school steps. 

Other highlights of the day will be music by Leslie Harkonen;  noon food for sale by the St Paul Lutheran Ladies;  door prizes;  class meetings in afternoon; sharing some remembrances and history of the school at a 4:30 catered buffet.  The cost of the buffet is $17.00, please send the reservation to Joyce Alto, 25547 Hazelnut Trail Nevis MN 56467 by August 1st.

The day will conclude with a concert at 6:30 pm the 7 piece Finnish brass band “The Ameriican Poikat” (Boys of America). This band has traveled to Finland to perform and is made up of musicians of Finnish descent. The group has evolved around the charm of old music and dance arrangements.  The concert will be at the auditorium of the Alango School.   Listen & dance to waltzes, polkas and schottisch.  The public is welcome.

                                                 12 Noon- For sale by church group:  sloppy joes, chips

                                                   2 pm All-school photo-school bell will ring.

                                                  ALL DAY;  VISIT ,REMINISCE,

                                           

                                         4:30 PM Dinner Buffet, catered by Zups--$17.00 per person

                                         BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR, WE MAY NEED IT.

Bring memorabilia ( There’s a ‘History Room’ at the school to leave it, if you like.)

                                            Concert and Dance open to the Public- Donations collected.
