Submitted by his sister, Sharon Elg

Stan Pearson, Cook High School graduate of the class of 1972, is on the adventure of a lifetime. Stan is the son of of Willard and the late Helen Pearson of Angora. He grew up on the farm that his brother and nephew, Marvin and Jeff Pearson and their wives Peggy and Lisha, still operate five miles southwest of Cook. Stan's Grandfather, Abel Pearson, homesteaded much of the City of Cook in 1900. Their homestead house stood where the Homestead Apartments are presently located. Stan's sister Sharon and her husband Kenneth own and operate Kenneth Elg Construction in Isle, Minnesota.

Stan has been doing cross country trucking all of his adult life. For the past ten years he has worked for Game Creek Video. Game Creek is owned by the former owner of the New England Patriots. The company has a total of 54 trucks, three of which are now in South Korea, for the broadcasting of the Olympic Winter Games. Stan is the driver of one of those trucks.

The trucks were made ready in Boston and then traveled cross county to California, before boarding the ship several weeks ago that would take them to their destination.

Stan and his co-workers flew over on the 22nd of January and will return to the USA on February 27. A total of twelve Game Creek employees are being joined by the broadcasting crew from NBC. They have been busy setting up at various venues in the country. All of the broadcasting of the games in the USA will be done with Game Creek equipment. Stan's truck and equipment will be at Phoenix Park in PyeongChang.

Stan had to obtain an international drivers license prior to the trip and has been in training this past week in South Korea. Drivers from 42 countries are readying their equipment to begin live broadcasting on February 8.

Game Creek Video is involved in broadcasting many major events in the USA and Canada. The eight thousand mile trip from Stan and wife Lynn’s home in Florida is the “craziest” adventure yet. His words.

They have broadcast just about everything! The presidential debates, presidential speeches, Super Bowls, college football, baseball, football, soccer, hockey, basketball , NASCAR racing, etc. in the USA and Canada. They do award shows and theater productions. Stan was at the opening of the Yankee stadium in New York.

Here's wishing you safety and a great time on this adventure Stan. Let the games begin!!
