Jared & Caitlyn Bangs' BLOG

Jared and Caitlyn Bangs and their young family moved to Cook in the summer of 2011, when Jared began as the Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church in Cook. He graduated from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul with a Master of Divinity Degree and was ordained in November of 2014. Jared has volunteered as a varsity football and baseball coach for North Woods High School, and he also referees JV and C-team basketball games.  He is a licensed substitute teacher for North Woods School, and he writes articles for the Cook News Herald.  Caitlyn currently works as a full-time mom, as well as coordinating the after-school Kid's Club Program at the First Baptist church, which is attended by children from all over the community. She is a certified USA Hockey Coach and coaches their girls' 8U Hockey team for Chisholm/Hibbing. She also competes in various adult hockey tournaments throughout the region.

As a family, they enjoy hunting, fishing, boating, camping, snowboarding, nordic skiing, ice hockey, blueberry picking, gardening, and many other things available in the Northland.  They have four young children: Alethea, Sophia, Hudson, and Haven.  They have chronicled their family adventures in their blog.
